Jun 26 (Wed) - Update
No rainbows. Not for lack of rain but because too many clouds.
More storms rolled through the QCA yesterday. After supper they were the type of storms that produced a constant low rumbling of thunder with an occasional ‘outdoor voice’ thunderclap.

I didn’t spend a lot of time at coffee yesterday. The book-editing weather-forecasting-certified cartographer stopped by on his way to a minor medical thing. He and his are headed up to Michigan for a sort of a family reunion at the old homestead that sits in the shore of Lake Michigan. A dozen people arriving and leaving over a ten day period, in a small cottage. Many will sleep outside because why not?

Back to coffee, the car-rebuilding, ex-fireman, now Coroner for the County of Rock Island stopped by. It’s been a while. We talked cars, from slot cars on up.

After coffee I took it easy while Kim worked on the quilt. She discovered there’s a shortage of one color so she has to work through that. Shes piecing things together at this point so there’s not a lot of effort lost at this point.

I decided to finally get the ole’ workstation so it would be easier to scan documents (for example: a cross-stitch pattern). To date I’ve been using a stoopid usb thumb drive to shuffle files back and forth between the all-in-one and the workstation. I thought that setting things up would be a headache-and-foul-language-producing exercise because my workstation runs Linux. I was pleasantly surprised when it took just a few mouse clicks. Brother is the way to go, at least in my case. HP can get stuffed.

As I type this Kyle is on his way over with a car full of doggos. He and Kim are headed across the swollen Mississippi River where his herd will get their shots. Annnnd… Kim has a quilting luncheon on this side of the river. I will sit tight and hold the fort. Maybe clean a rug or two.

Yesterday evening Kim and I finished watching The Adjustment Bureau. Second time for me. It took me a while to convince Kim to watch it. We both like the show.

Willow has a spa day tomorrow. Bath, shampoo, blowout, haircut, nails, the works. I’ll drop her off on the way to coffee and fetch her when she’s done.
