Feb 14 (Wed) - Update

Hello.

I’m changing my email provider. I’ve been using FastMail for many years but after hearing about Posteo and browsing their web site I opened an account. They have a proven track record on anti-spying and have excellent business practices. And get this: they provide, each and every business day, a vegetarian lunch to the entire staff, free of charge, created by their own cook (pics in the above link). Is a cook a chef? I don’t know what the requirements are to be an official chef. I’ll look it up. And their entire operation runs on green energy. They’ve earned my business before I sent a single email.

.

Unfortunately I can’t export my existing emails from FastMail because their basic plan doesn’t allow imap or pop3 access. And that’s just one issue I have with FastMail.

.

Oh. My new email address is: john underscore english at posteo dot net. I chose the word ‘english’ because all forms of ‘john’ and ‘john smith’are already taken. In several different nationalities because I checked. I wonder why they’re all taken?

.

With that bit of housekeeping out of the way I turn my attention to dogs. I just got off the blower with the groomer, she misses Willow soooo much. We agreed that Thursday (this week!) will be Willow’s spa day. Awesome.

.

This afternoon the doggos have an appointment with an animal chiropractor. They’ve seen him before, their last visit being many moons ago. The trip (25 minutes or so) seems to stress Lydia a bit but otherwise it’s a non-event except for my wallet.

.

So a busy few days where doggos are concerned. Cheers.

.

Oh, I forgot. In my last article I mentioned an article I found on the web but I forgot to include the link. The article reviewed browsers from mostly a privacy and security perspective. A review of browsers.

    Explanation from Chef Thomas.
    A cook cooks.
A chef is a big picture person. Develops recipes and menus, leads people.
In other words, a chef creates/develops/conceptualizes.
    A cook executes.
Oh ya…the chef has to listen to feedback from cooks, dishwashers, customers, vendors, senior management, and anyone else.

Thanks, Carol, saved me from lookin’ it up. As for feedback, wouldn’t life be better if we each had our own ‘feedback volume knob’ to adjust the intensity of some of that stuff. Maybe with a ‘reverse’ position so we could stand in silence while it got reflected back at ‘em. Sometimes.
