Bsmnt Wkbnch Proj – Day 2
I made good progress today, until…
After feeding three ravenous dogs and myself, then tidying the kitchen, I got started. It was around, oh, 9:30 am.

I got the second workbench fully installed, including ‘welding’ it to the wall..

Here’s how I do the welding, it’s nothing special. I cut an unused t-shirt into strips which I’ll actually cut into shorter pieces before I touch the two-part. I also set out the two-part and the stuff I’ll need for that..
I set a scrap piece of 2×4 under the bench top and position it such that there’s enough space between the 2×4 and stone to fit a wooden mixing stick and a goopy piece of t-shirt..
I mix the goop, drop in a piece of t-shirt, stir it in the goop to saturate it, then pack it between the 2×4 and the stone wall. Repeat until the gap is filled, moving quickly. I wait an hour before I set anything substantial on the bench. I’ll put a shelf underneath each bench for storing stuff.

I’m gonna stop building benches and discuss arranging things with Kim. She’ll have some good ideas on what should go where. There’s at least a handful of roll-around machines that we’ll roll away from the wall and into the center of the space in order to use ‘em, then roll ‘em back when we’re done. I need to figure out where they’re gonna go.

I was done with today’s workbench by 1:30. I cleaned up and had lunch, then sat down on the couch for a few minutes. I woke up at 6 pm. I need to try to do something about that.
